How could an old woman’s fall launch her daughter’s life-changing series of shocking discoveries and events? Sharon Cooper could never have imagined uncovering decades-long secrets that reveal unbelievable family history, unknown relatives, connections to the mob, greed, blackmail, and murder.
At the start of The Unwanted Series, our first main character, Sharon Cooper, is in her mid 40’s and lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband, Jack. Jack is a supportive but old-fashioned protector. He works hard as an industrial mechanic which has allowed Sharon to be a stay-at-home mom. Their daughter, Callie, (our second main character) has just graduated from high school and loves photography, and Mark is away at college in his sophomore year.
As the plots thicken, Sharon and Callie enjoy an unusually close and fun relationship. Although they banter with each other, love and respect always comes first.
Alice Frainey is Sharon’s estranged mother. She lives in the biggest house in her affluent neighborhood.
Roy Jackson is a patrol officer. He is in his mid-twenties.
Rudy Burke is a private investigator that has been in the business for over 40 years.
Pierre appears to be a minor character, but he becomes more entangled as the books go on.
Each successive book takes a closer look at them and their lives. Of course, as in anyone’s life, there are several colorful and supporting characters. Some of them are: Georgia Anderson; Grant and Karen Frainey and their daughters – Arlene, Bonnie and Charlotte; and Jack’s parents, Ralph and Cora Cooper.
As our books continue, more characters are added, old ones either fade away or become more complex. Some changes are pleasant, some surprising, and others are a relief. We’ll refrain from revealing the changes in later books; we wouldn’t want to spoil anything.
